Some new sort of twisted form of constant irony  

Here's a nice short history of American semiotics (in the academy, at least), with juicy details about the education of Ira Glass, among others. I like the idea of blaming my "problematic relation to practice" on those damn semiotics classes...

its strange reading an article on semiotics; what does the article really signify? all i know is its very well-written.

Perhaps we need to start Semiotics Anonymous recovery groups...

It is very strange to have an article about American semiotics that doesn't mention Charles Sanders Peirce.

It seems in the article that Schole learn and teach 'french' semiotics instead of 'american' semiotics.
