Some new sort of twisted form of constant irony
Here's a nice short history of American semiotics (in the academy, at least), with juicy details about the education of Ira Glass, among others. I like the idea of blaming my "problematic relation to practice" on those damn semiotics classes...
what a great phrase that is.
(great name for a blog too!)
it should be though:
twisted meta-form of constant meta-irony
its strange reading an article on semiotics; what does the article really signify? all i know is its very well-written.
btw the link you gave is wrong; the
article is from the boston globe.
link fixed... thanks for letting me know!
Perhaps we need to start Semiotics Anonymous recovery groups...
It is very strange to have an article about American semiotics that doesn't mention Charles Sanders Peirce.
>It is very strange to have an article about
>American semiotics that doesn't mention
> Charles Sanders Peirce
It seems in the article that Schole learn and teach 'french' semiotics instead of 'american' semiotics.
