Not to make light of this awful tragedy, but I think Russia's the only place in the world you'd have to prepend a caveat like this one:
"There's still a chance this is an appalling airplane maintenance problem, but it seems more likely this is a terrorist act, given the prevailing conditions in the region," said Fiona Hill, a Russia scholar at the Brookings Institution in Washington.An appalling maintenance problem? Bozhe, moi! For the sake of Russian national pride, let's hope this was terrorism...
