Actually, Stephanopoulos was hostile to the Clintons even when he was working for Bill, and nothing but a careerist. Don't get me wrong, while I didn't see the debate I'm perfectly ready to believe it was the farce many people in the blogosphre insist it was.
I know they had a falling out and that he didn't last all that long in the administration, but Stephanopoulos played no small part in getting Clinton elected in the first place, and the Clinton presidency will always be the biggest contribution he's made and the reason he is where he is. There's no getting around that connection, and regardless of how they feel about each other now it's completely inappropriate for him to be moderating that debate...
